Default N2O cam ?

Ok so I know this may belong in the internals section, but I figure if your in here you may know a thing or 2 about nitrous motors....

Right now I have a very high mile LS1 and I am looking for a good nitrous cam to run in the car until it goes boom.

Im curious what to look for in the cam specs that will make it respond better to the nitrous?

Right now I have a Comp Cam for a future build up that will commence at the end of my LS1's long life, so basically its a best bang for my buck in a mostly stock LS1 with juice.

from what i have read, you want a decent split, so the exhaust is higher then the intake duration, like 228/232 , or 233/239.

how long do you plan on your motor lasting?

how much gas you using? you could save your money/time by just add more spray until the stock motor goes...

Traditionally nitrous grinds favor the exhaust by +12* duration, while having only slightly less lift on exhaust. The duration allows the valve to hang open longer, and provides more output than the difference in lift. Higher LSA also help keep the cylinder pressure up as well, 114 prefered over 112 LSA. Not to say you cant run a 230/225 .580/.560 110*LSA you can, but it wouldnt be optimal.

Ther cam I am looking at using is a .581 220 int and .588 and 228 exh. its on a 110 LSA tho...

The cam I have for my next motor is .622 lift on both sides and 258 int and 270 exh at .050 on a 114 LSA. I was told this was a descent N2O cam, but it will not clear a SI with out fly cut correct?

Right now the biggest jets I have ran in the kit on it at the track are .048 N2O and .026 Fuel and that got me to 12.337 where my best on just the motor was 13.60. I have Bigger jets on the way, .051, .053, .057, and .059 N2O and the equivalent for the fuel side.

I didnt like the MS3 cam personally. I liked the TSP 231/237 better. My buddy had the MS3 and I just didnt like too much.
drkblu...a 258/270...GG thats huge duration. The lift I like .6222 sounds so familiar

Thanks for input guys. Im just going to through the smaller cam in it in a few weeks and see what it does, can only improve right?

As for now I finally got an aftermarket airlid and got 10 new N2O jets so I can bump the jetting up and see how much I can get out of it on the stock set up.

I was also thinking about changing the setup a little, possibly getting one of the kits that goes under the injectors for the main shot and the runnig the kit now as a second stage. anyone have experience with the under injector kits, or am I better off going a true direct port?

If you r not wanting to go over 150-200, then the injector nozzles work just fine.
