Default C6 vs Sprayed SS... need advice

Ok, so in a couple of weeks, my parents are leaving to go pick up their C6 in the bowling green kentucky museum, then driving it back here to california. When they get back, my stepdad said that he wants to take our cars to the track and run them and see what they can do. my SS is in my sig and his C6 will obviously be stock. I want to install a 100 shot just for this occasion. My question is what kit should i go with? once i beat his C6 and confuse the hell out of him i am going to take it out and either sell it, or put it in my next LS1, because the SS will be my moms car soon and i dont want her driving around with nitrous in there, especailly if i put my own money into it. What kit would be the cheapest and easiest to install. I would prefer a wet kit, but would look into getting a dry kit too. I dont need anything fancy at all. in fact, im trying to keep this as low budget as possible since it will only be on the car for one day. The car has about 40k miles on it, so im not THAT worried. Help? Thanks!

Harris Speed Works has new wet kits on sale for something like $349. I don't know how long the sale is good for though. Also, I say spray 150. If it's just once and you're not even that worried, then do 150. Hell, why not 175? Timing might not be so hot for the 175, but I'd want to make sure the vette is dead.

well those C6s put out like 360 or 370 to the wheels right? if i put a 125 shot in there i should be fine right? ...well it wouldnt be just ONCE. i would test it out a couple times, but the SS is becoming my moms car and im getting a Z28 to mod later on, which means it will have a couple shots of nitrous for the testing, since ive never used or driven a car with nitrous... dont even think ive ever even ridden IN one. then it would get a shot a the track. You dont think 150 is pushing it?

150 is definately not pushing it, but reading this, if it were me, I'd go for a 100-125 dry shot. Easy to install, easy to remove. You'll trounce him.

hes getting a C6 M6 Z51, so it looks like if i put the kit in i might just be able to hang with him, if that. anyone know where i can get a cheap 125 dry kit? i know its not good to say the word 'cheap' when it comes to things like that but i would like to keep it under 400 dollars.

Your dad will not be able to get his M6 C6 in the 12's so you will wear him out.

haha, i know thats for sure! but the car is going to be my moms... this is kinda like my 'last hurrah' before i sign it over to her and start saving up for a Z28. payments are a son of a bitch! im just gonna take the kit off once im done at the track and put it in my Z28 once i get it. which is why im kind of torn... most dry kits are easier to install and uninstall, but wet kits seem more reliable and easier to use.

Get a dry kit and spray 100 shot then take it off and keep it.I like both wet and dry kits both have their pros and cons.

Check out dynotune's website, they're a sponsor on this site. Good stuff and affordable.

Bottle heater.

Just mount the bottle on the hump, or on the floor behind the seat. Just throw something like a jacket over it and of course don't tell him you have it. Plus it's easy to open, just turn around and twist the handle.

If your going to use this kit later on you may want to spring for something a little bit fancier, maybe a FJO progressive controller, direct port setup, it's up to you. If you have major mods in plan for your future car, think it out and buy the right stuff once, not multiple times because you wanted a bargain the first time.
