Default Pre-IC nitrous injection?

Looking at pre-IC nitrous injection...
The guy that is fabbing my new inlet to TB tube does work on the Garmon Diesel truck (see recent post in Multi-mediasection of pt.net) and I was talking w/ him about my thoughts of WI pre-IC. He said that he and Garmon had great success w/ spraying nitrous pre-IC on the turbo diesel drag truck. He wasn't sure if there would be any issues on an application like mine or not.
Cools charged air at its hottest point before it ever hits the IC and get some benefit of the oxidizing effect as well. I believe that I would inject right after surge and tap the solenoid right into the boost referenced switch on my AquaMist system so that they would both activate together.

I am nitrous illiterate, so...
please share your thoughts...thanks

I've heard both ways of doing it before the IC and after. The argument I heard for after the IC was to let the IC cool as much as possible and then using the nitrous to cool it even more. This was on diesel race trucks and both ways seemed to work well. If you are adding fuel with it though you would want to do it after the IC. But I honestly haven't seen a back to back comparison to say which is best. How well the IC does its job would probably play a part as well

Dry only...of course...
don't really want the full blown nitrous effect...just it's cooling effect on the charged air...I am sure there are some residual effects that would be of benefit, but not like spraying into the TB...that's where my AquaMist comes in...

Well, I started getting discussion about it on pt.net...maybe this will encourage more input here...

Well now that I have been explained what IC stands for I understand.
I should have been able to put Intercooler to IC if I would have just payed attention to the afterwards post.

Anyways.
I agree with srsnow on this one I am not sure how different it would be on spraying before or after the intercooler.
Ive always thought spraying the some what cooled air after it went through the inter cooler would be better. Then ofcours as it intered the combustion chamber it would break down cooling the charge and burning more fuel.

However I wonder if spraying before would be better because of giving the air more time to cool from the nitrous...Hmm good questions. For the Cooling affect you would think this would be better.

Looks like you should run the test and share with us....

One more variable would be if you spray it before the IC, it would condense, taking up less space, and as a result it might make the IC less of a restriction if it is one.

Best place to spray is definately after the IC.

IC works by way of heat exchange which is directly dependant on the temperature gradient. A hotter charge in the IC will lose more heat energy to the IC.

N2O cools by way of latent heat of evaporation (change of state) and will absorb the same amount of heat energy no matter what the temp gradient is ...as long as it's above the heat of vaporization of the N2O, which it will be.

You will drop more total heat energy from the air charge by spraying the N2O after the intercooler.
