Default Timing for 150 wet

I was told to pull 2 degs per 100 shot. Now my z06 I have tuned right now with 26-28 degs timing at wot and a a/f of 12.8. Now thats a few more degs of timing from stock. Do I start pulling timing back from there or do I need to go back to stock timing tables and pull timing. Can I just start pulling timing from about 75%-WOT? And last for a 150 wet what should I set my a/f at?

I would go to a (reputable) professional performance shop and have them tune it while checking the A/F. They will have a lot more experience than you and should get more out of your car than you!

JMO though!!!

I believe mini is getting into EFI Live...

What we did with my predator was to start with small shots and monitored the KR, if you see KR during the pull we pulled the equivelent timing for the next shot and looked for 0 KR. If no KR we bumped it up and so on.

I think I pulled about 4 degrees for a test with a 200 shot (most the Predator would do).

I am logging with EFI starting this weekend.

I have my own shop and do tuning everyday. I have just never messed with nitrous on cars that have heads and big cams before. These are all cars making 400-500rwhp na. Im doing my own cars first as my test beds.

I would just pull what you added in, so basically back to the stock timing table. It really depends on the comp., cam, and the octane fuel that you are running. If it's pump I would just go back to the stock timing table when you spray it, or just use a LS1 TT to pull it when you spray if you don't want to keep flashing the PCM.

Generally we like to see atleast 2 degrees pulled per 50hp over 100hp. If you want air really on the side of safety pull 2 at 100 4 at 150 and 6 at 200 but as Matt said it really and truly does depend on the specifics of your setup.

Beer.. you mentioned pulling timing with the predator. It's my understanding you can't pull full degrees witht he diablo, but what it's doing is pulling a % of the advance on it's own tune, not even overall.. I may be wrong but i recall that is that Johan had told me.

How are you keeping that much timing? I have to get this nitrous tuning down on my cars that have 150 wet shots because I have several cars to tune with two and three stages totaling 200-350hp shots.

I dont want to pirate this thread but how do you know exactly how much advance timing you're running? I let RWTD write my current tune and have @ times seen 32-34 degrees. I once had a friend writing down the o2's in the passengers seat as he monitered the Predator and he recorded 38 degrees on 1 pull but 32 degrees on the others. I didnt know If there was anyway to tell so I'm gonna use the Snap-On MODIS scan tool from my family's shop where I work and do some graph logs. I actually just leared that the MODIS was capable of doing this, but is there an easier way?

You are correct, it is shown as a percentage, I believe the 10% (10% was max the Predator will allow) equated to 4° overall. Johan made me a Base NA tune and then a Nitrous Tune for a 150 shot with 6° pulled, we think the 6° was a bit much, so we used the NA Tune and pulled what we could.

I am in the ballpark, and the EFILive Scan should help me nail down whats really going on so I can maximize the set up.
