How many total degrees of timing should we be running?

Default How many total degrees of timing should we be running?

I know the standard rule for pulling timing, but I want to know what you guys are running at WOT for a wet 150 shot on straight 100 octane gas? Full exhaust and lid are the only other mods on a 98 a4 convertible. We've got colder plugs (tr6's) and new wires as well. Should we be at 24-26 or 28-30? I know on the cobra I run 23 for both boost and spray, but it's got 110 in it at all times.

If your timing is advanced from a custom tune. Pull 4 to 6 degrees.

I know that one. I'm just looking for the actual # of degrees of timing that people are running on a 150 shot with colder plugs and straight 100 for the fuel.

well i honestly don't know about the 100 oct but i pull 6 * over my n/a tune with my a/f i think was mid,upper 11s.on a blind guess i'd say you could run at 26 *if not 28 * on 100 oct if it will run at that timing on 93 oct.

ive been told to retard the timing 2 degrees per 50HP

When I ran a blower(Vortech), I also ran alky injection. I was able to run about 28* WOT and 12lbs of boost, with NO detonation. You can still run alky on a NA car. I was thinking about running it myself. I have a 98 Vette with all bolt on's and currently running a 100 wet. But, I just just a quart of Xylene in the tank...and cross my fingers...no detonation. I am gonna out a 150 shot in and see what happens. I used to detonate real bad w/a 150.

Thanks for the info. I think that we'll start at 24* and go from there. I don't know what it's got in it now but it runs just fine on 150 with 100 in the tank so far. Just want to optimize the set up.
