I need help adjusting bottle heater regulator!!!

I need help adjusting bottle heater regulator!!! I have the 860 bottle heater/bracket and the regulator (the sensore that senses the bottle pressure) won't activate the the bottle heater. THe heater worked before there was any pressure in the bottle (when it was dead empty).........then I went to fill the bottle and it had roughly 800psi and it wouldn't come on.
I rigged the regulator (with Robert56's help
) to check and see if the bottle heater even worked and it does. That leads me to beleive the setting from the factory/store is incorrect, or just not set to what I need!
So can someone help me adjust the regulator to come on at 950psi and turn off at 1050?
I don't have the slightest clue how to adjust it.

Find the a set screw (opposite end of the 1/8 NPT fitting).
Turn on the heater.
Adjust the set screw clockwise til you hear it click It should be heating (feel element).
Use a pressure gauge to fine tune the setting
Clockwise increases pressure
Counter Clockwise decreases pressure.
Set it so it clicks off at your desired pressure.
Mine clicks off at about 1060 and starts back up 1020 or so
Turn on the heater.

How can you set the on and off with just the one screw?
I understand that if I turn it till the bottle gets warm its setting the pressure for it to come on! But then how do I get it to know when to turn off?
I would think there would have to be 2 set screws for that!!!

Your pretty much setting it for when it turns off only. Set it to go off at 1050

That's the problem, it wont come on at about 800psi, but runs when bottle is empty or when transducer is bypassed. It must have a very, very low on psi, possibley defective? Dave?

Once it's tuned I can mess with it all I want because I won't have to worry about trying to get the bottle pressure to optimum pressure for tuning.
The pressure switch is tricky to set. I use a Ice pack to set mine.
You have to wait about 15 minutes embetween setting the switc points. This allows the bottle to cool down.
What I do is start by taking the pressure switch and turning it until the heater clicks on. Then I let it heat until the heater element is no longer getting hot. If it is above the 1050 point I take the ice pack to cool down the unit faster then fine adjust the pressure switch until it clicks off at the set pressure needed. Keep in mind if using a ice pack not to let water drip all over the electrical parts. You could get shocked or damage the parts.

Verdad Gallardo Hmm somthing is wrong then. That switch is the most accurate adjustable switch I have found. It should not be dropping that low to come back on. Let me look into this. Maybe its a bad switch.

First we need to make sure its not a installation Issue. I am talking to Jon through PMs and he is going to check something.
We have sold alot of those switches with our personal products and the 860 heaters. This is the first one that there is a posibility of a problem. So I am a 100 percent certain it is not a quality issue. Ofcourse anything machanical or electrical can have issues.
If the unit checks out to be bad we will simply just swap it out.
