Default Dyno Results

Well, I made the 3 hr trip to a new mustang dyno. We were actually on our way to a car show so we stopped by and dyno'd a few cars on our way through.

I was kind of rushed & I only did 1 pull with a 100 shot of Nitro Dave's Plate kit. Peak HP was 501 & peak torque was 569. The old school hot rodders (basically everyone in my car club) about crapped themselves. They can't believe the little LS1 on 91 octane can do that.

This is on a 6sp through a 9" with 35 spline axles. I have TR 224 cam & some home ported 241 heads. QTP's with true 3" duals. Here is digital photo of the dyno. This is my 1st time to dyno so I don't have any comparison.

Next time get that spun up to about 6200rpms, that cams range is extended further than the stocker. Nice dyno especialy considering it was loaded, how does it run at the track on the same 100shot?

We don't have a track around here. I have another engine going in this winter, the wife wants this engine for her project so I am taking it easy.

This weekend is "racewars". This is where they open up the airport runway & everyone grudge races. It is an 1/8 mile long & I believe there is a timer. This will be my 1st time to attend. We'll see how it does.

I have only seen it on video, & I didn't see one import. I saw a lot of nasty old school hot rods. It is on an unprepped asphalt runway which made for some interesting racing. I'll be there this Sat. I'll let you know how it goes.

Been there and done that before...be careful at the point the tires are frying and then suddenly get traction.
