I use a 52 for NX. I think for NOS, you want something like a 1 or 2 jet for a 100 shot. They rate everything weak like little girls.

It doesn't really matter where the horse power is rated at RWHP or FWHP the jets still flow the same it just depends on if you want 100hp at the wheels or at the flywheel. Rating things at the rear wheels can get a little tricky because of differing amounts of parasitic loss associated with different drivetrain layouts, which is one reason NOS tended to shy away from RWHP ratings but more than anything when a lot of the NOS kits were originally designed chassis dynos weren't as readily available. Now back to your question a 47 jet should get you around 100FWHP and a 5s should get you about 100RWHP.

You can figure out what 2 jets are equal to in a single jet with the following equation;

jet*jet*# of jets = x then the square root of x equals what the same square area of the 2 jets in one

Example: 32*32 = 1024 * 2 = 2048 square root = 45.25
So 1 45 jet is equal to two 32's

The opposite would be;

45*45 / 2 = 1012.5 square root equals 31.8

Yea i would definatley drop that jet- thats way huge for a basic dry kit- where did you even get one that big- at that point you are almost more limited by your noids than your jet... I run a 52(about 100) - 56(about 150) is as big as i have been willing to push it. there is a good chart somewhere in the sticky-

I'd say that 65 jet on the NOS 5177 kit is pretty much open hose....meaning it is flowing as much as the noids will let it.

I put a 65 in mine years ago for one night...I kicked everybodys a$$. I am not sure but I think 65 is a 150shot. But as FinalTA said you are at the limit of the noid. But it sure feels good at the top end!

I have yet to see a NOS 5177 run 150rwhp period. I used open lines, no jets and only pulled 115rwhp. Anyway, in the stickies up top there is jet chart, includes single and dual jet sizing.
