Default Need help with IAT resistor wiring

I am trying to wire a resistor into my IAT to pull timing. I used the following as references:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=resistor
http://home.comcast.net/~weaver.robe...ll_and_pot.jpg

I have attached how I wired it (assuming the middle pin on the relay is 87a) - but it is broken now - the IAT reads -31F. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? TIA

Sounds as if you may have something wired incorrectly, as it's reading like a nitrous shot. Also, use the known to work 750ohm res. You can also play with a pointometer, a variable reistat or resistor. Best to be using a tuner program when doing this so as to see exactly what is going on. What car and year? With out seeing exactly how/where you have things wired, it's really tuff to diagnos.

It is a 99 Trans Am. That is basically how it is wired. There are the tan and purple wires going to the IAT - I spliced into the tan with the resistor (I also read on LS1tech to use the 1000 ohm - i figured bigger the better), and cut the purple wire, one end on pin 30, and other on 87 in the middle. 85 and 86 are wired to ground and arm switch. Resistor is on the other 87.

I have Autotap, that is what I am using to monitor the IAT values and if I can get it working, the timing. When I hook the purple wire back together (bypassing the relay) it read 82F, but with relay in it is -31F with the relay on or off.

Figured it out. I had a SPST relay, and a ground issue. Works now. Moved IAT temp from 80something to 122F.
