Default Need a tuner!!!!

I didn't think it would be this hard to find! I am looking for a local shop to tune my car. MTI is well known, but $500 bucks is steep for my almost stock car tuned with a 75 to 125 shot! Is there anybody else in houston that could do it for 1/2 that?
Sorry, as much as I like doing it, I dont have time to go through every sponcer!
Also, before I break out the first-aid kit to start healing my hands and arms, are TR6's gapped at 37 still the best plug to run? I see there are a lot of advertisments for Zex, Denso, etc.... yes I have checked the sticky's, I was just wondering if anybody had heard anything new before I start the bleeding!

Thanks all

At 75-125 I wouldnt worry about tuning, if anything just throw in a splash of race gas with some pump and haul ***. TR6 gapped around .038" yep, still throwing the fire out there.

On a 125 I would not worry about a tune, 91+octane gas and you are good to go, could go with a fuel pump also. TR-6's are a must and replace ever 6k miles or sooner.

150 and up is when you start needing stuff.
If you tune to the spray then it will be slower on the motor....

Default thank

Thanks yall, One of the reasons I would like to get the tune or reprogramming is because I am wanting some advice on raising my RPM level. I would like to get 6500rpm before rev-limiter. Getting a little more out of each gear should keep me from having to shift into 4th the last 20yards of 1/4.
Also, my car rpms rev up and down from 1000 to 1300rpms after car is warmed up. It is really starting to get on my last nerve!

changed the oil and fuel filter yesterday. So I am getting close!

Thanks again and keep the gold nuggets of advice coming!!

oh yea, after changing fuel filter I tapped it on a white rag and the fuel that came out was black! Maybe this will help my ideal thing.... yea right!

I'm going with Moe Bailey on my mind blowing project. He is one of the first to use LS1 EDIT. He has the most experiance with the program around. But as for what your looking for, Jason at MTI, Chuck at HPE ar both good.

You just cant spin it that high with stock valvetrain, you'd need a cam and springs at least (no mention of them in your sig). Also fuel needs increase with rpms.

Moe Bailey also does all of my personal tunning. When we owned the speed shop he did all the tunning there as well.. THere are many sponsors here on the board as well that can help you. As for prices they vary. My advice would be to not let the priceing make your decision. Let the reputation and then see if you can afford it.
