Default 10-Sec Daily Driven N2O Recipe

Keep in mind that this is only one mans recipe for a truly daily street driven 10-sec. LS1 “F-body”. This was done with a completely stock suspension and a soft 1.64 60-ft. It has cut consistent mid 1.6x 60-ft times but has went a low as 1.53-60 ft. when leaving on the button vs. leaving with the n20 activated by the TPS/RPM (3000). All of the 10.9x passes were made using only the first stage and shifting at 5700-rpm. There is also some ET/MPH left in the tune.

Lunati camshaft 221@.050 .560/.560
Cold Air lid and K&N Filter
PaceSetter longtube headers w/2.5-in true dual exhaust (Borla Mufflers.)
TCI SSF convetor tightened up to 32-3500
3.42 gears
26x10.5 slicks on a 10-in Weld wheel.
Front sway bar removed
HP Tuners
NOS Big Shot (N2O)/ Cheater (Fuel) jetted at 150-hp on the first stage and 200-hp second stage.
Big Shot line
Nitro Dave’s plate
FJO digital controller
LS6 Intake
Racetronix fuel pump

Hope this helps anyone who may be looking for this type of info.

Great recipe Big Geek. about the same as mine, and after running a 10.xx pass, we're ready to drive cross country with the a/c on. Good job.

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen. Maybe this information will help someone lookking to run the same times or better. Dave, those numbers are due in part to the quality parts you have sold me, thanks a million. Take care.

Jim C.

PS-Robert, that is what it is really all about; no? 10-second ride and 20+mpg. Gotta love technology.

Slim, from the looks of things you shouldn't have ANY problem running way into the 10's. Good luck and please keep us posted. Take care.

Another member brought something to my attention and I would like to clarify this so no one thinks that I am shooting a 350-shot to a stock internals motor. Both stages are set up through the FJO controller and use the same solonoids as when the 200 shot engages the 150 shot is turned off so the total shot is only 200 on the second stage. I hope this clarifies this.

Big Geek...I was wondering what springs you used and also if you changed the heads? Would you recommend changing heads if putting in 224 cam instead? Are you sure its .560/.560 and not .558/.558 b/c this is the only 221/221 I could find on lunati's site - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

John, it is the .558/.558 cam. I had a brain fart due to the fact that I was looking at Lunati's 224@.050 camshaft right before typeing this but decided to keep plugging away with the 221@.050. The 221@.050 is .558/.558 and the 224@.050 is .560/.560 Sorry for the confusion. As for the heads, the stock LS1 heads are not bad by any means but as gears heads we always want more. I believe that you should go ahead and do the camshaft/spring swap and see what you think. The springs I used were the comp 918 spring with the matching locks and retainers.Good luck to you and please keep us informed of how it all turns out for ya. I hope this helps.

I am still running the stock 10-bolt 7.5. I have seen guys in the 10.4x range still running the stock 7.5 with a girdle and good axles. I would venture to say that so long as your 60-ft times stay reasonable that you would be OK (1.5-1.6 for a daily driver.). I do plan to upgrade mine before too much longer but I just got done buying one of TCI's SSF 4L60E trannies, so I need to let the fundage recoop. Hope this helps.
