Default FJO Mini Problem

So,

This install is on a 2005 GTO LS2. The controller works flawlessly except for a strange problem. When the system activates my speedometer dies. I'm pulling the RPM signal right off the green wire by the passenger side center coil packs. When I let off the pedal, the speedo comes back. Tach works fine the entire run. Anyone??

TIA,

Mark

Oh and I'm pulling power directly off the positive battery terminal through a 30amp fused connection

FPSS is not a power / ground switch. It's inline (series) switch. Shouldn't be hooked to chassis unless the other side is hooked to relay chassis ground connection. Not a good idea. Pulling too much current through FPSS.
The question of where you're tapping for power is the switched 12v.

Switched as in for the arming switch? I'm pulling power from an unused 30A circuit for the smokers package.

depending on how your system is wired, it shouldn't be grounded.

Do you have the other side of FPSS going to pin 85 of the relay? If so, it's wired ok. If not, tell us how you have it wired.

Yep. Pin 85 is for the FPSS and the other terminal on the FPSS is to ground. The system is working fine with the exception of my speedo issue...Sounds like it would be something related to the RPM signal connection......

ya. I agree since it only happens when the FJO kicks in. So, ya need to check that pick up you're using. I don't know which is the correct wire for the GTO but doesn't sound like it's the one you're using.

It deffinly has to do with a connection somewhere.
Tach signle should be comming from passenger side coil trigger wire light green.

Yessir...It is connected to the light green wire passenger side. I've tested the system and it is picking up the signal properly. To test it, I set the FJO trigger for 1500rpm's disconnected the selenoids from the relay had someone rev it and the led's on the FJO tell me it's working just fine. Hmmmm.

One thing is if your FJO box is near something sensitive. The RF noise traveling on the main ground wires is pretty high.
Light Green.

Tell you what with noids UNPLUGED see if the SPEED O drops out. If not it has to do with ground and noise. IF it does might be time for a rewire.

Which TPS wire did you plug on to.
