Default bottle pressure

figured out the problem with my motor popping on the n20 was low pressure, so im at the 1/8 tonite and i got it up to 1000 hit it, smoothe pulling great and as soon as i hit 3rd gear it started popping again, very faint, look at the bottle psi after the run and it was 650-700?
next run i brought it to 1100 (wooried about it being lean bc i think the jets are rated at 950??? (HSW KIT)
did the same thing on the big end...was about 750 after the run...is it normal to lose about 350psi during a run? bottle was on a new fill, custom 11.5 pounds in it...

anything i can do to prevent this besides 2 bottles?
also i have no heater we were using a car heater to heat it, will a bottle warmer help this during a run?

when you heat a bottle, you need to bring it up to temperature slowly. The more unifor you heat the bottle, the longer it will hold temperature. Also you might want to invest in a bottle blanket...or just through a coat over it. I am running a heated bottle bracket and will heat the bottle for 30-45min before running. On a 100-150 shot you should not have a problem with pressure drop.

Also over filling the bottle will also increase pressure drop. If you are running a 10# bottle ...put 10#s in it.

Did you say they put 11.5 pounds in it? If so that is why it dropped so fast. In fact I know of people that under fill them by about a half pound and seem to get better results than if they were full. Also the higher pressure you start with the faster it will drop.

More fill = Less pressurized volume.

Ever use a pesticide sprayer? if you fill it half way, it takes a while to pump up the pressure, but lasts a looong time.

Beat me to it. You need to have enough pressurized gas at the top of the bottle to force the liquid through the dip tube and out of the nozzle.
