Default Window switch and WOT switch question

I am just about finished installing my HSW Sudden Impact single nozzle dry kit. I am going to be ordering a window switch soon that has 1st gear lockout. My question is if I have the window switch setup to turn on nitrous at 3500 RPM and shut off at 6000 RPM in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears (with 1st locked out), then why do I even need a WOT switch hooked up? Can I just use a window switch to turn the nitrous on and off or will the WOT switch still serve some purpose? THANKS

Nitrous Outlet has a window sw/wot sw unit that's only $129. No need for a micro wot switch.

oh, and you do need one or the other because you can be at 4000 rpm without being WOT. You sure don't want N2O feeding down when not at WOT.

So let's say I only use a window switch and no WOT switch. If I set the window switch to turn the nitrous on at 3500 RPM and off at 6000 RPM, what will happen at let's say partial throttle at 4500 RPM? Will the nitrous not flow because it is not WOT? Is the window switch able to determine WOT, therefore it will not turn on at 4500 RPM even though the minimum RPM is only 3500??? THANKS

If you have this one from Nitrous Outlet, then it won't turn on if you're at partial throttle. If you use a regular window switch and no WOT switch, and bring your car up to 4500 rpm using partial throttle, the nitrous could be activated. not a good thing.. at all. Mean nasty things will start happening. (you will learn words like "burnt" "broke" "pieces" yada yada)
Bottom line... you need either a micro wot switch (or TPS type switch) OR that trick one from NO that is both window and TPS.
Bang for your buck (and safest set up) is that one I showed you. Haven't seen anything else like it. Maybe someone else has.

Todd157k pretty much covered it...if you wire up a window switch and no TPS/WOT activation switch nothing good can happen.

The one he posted has all window functions, TPS activation, any gear lock out and will control up to 2 stages.

the window switch can tell which gear its in? or do you have to put microswitches on the shifter?

it reads the number of trips through the RPM band...IE first time through = 1st gear

But if you activate the kit in second gear w/1st gear locked out it will not spray until 3rd gear
