Default ls1 + n2o = timing??

my buddy is hookin' up a wet kit tonight. Hes got a '02 trans am. He was running a 100 dry eairler this year but is sackin' up to a wet kit. How big of a shot can you run on a ls1 without retarding the timing?

150 is safe with stock timing, more can be done, but then you can start risking damage more.

Would stock timing still be safe with a Heads/Cam car on the same shot?

Lets say it made 450ish NA then shot 150?

I used a 175hp shot on stock timing plus 1.5. BUT I dialed it in stages(100,125,150) and the fuel curve wasn't stock AND I ran GT100 unleaded. You'd be safe with the 150hp shot on the stock timing, and just be sure to dial in your fuel. You shouldn't have a problem if you know what you're doing.

Making sure your mixture is correct before and after the spray. Basically make sure everything is good working order, new fuel filter, verify fuel pressure etc., then when you spray it, if you have access to wideband monitor the a/f ratio and adjust the nitrous fuel jet size accordingly. Usually the jets in the kit will cover what you need, but just to be safe order a small assortment of jets around the size of the shot you plan to run. If you don't have a wideband then learning to read spark plugs is in your future. Or just find a friend (or shop) that knows how to tune.

You know this subject has been covered over and over and over again in the last couple weeks. Some of the more experianced guys really get tired of repeating this stuff, over and over and over again. Seems to me that you all need to do a little back up research. It's nice to have some of the newer guys answer your questions, but there is much more insight to be had with a little searching.

searching is all good as long as you know WHAT your searching for. Theres a reason people ask question is because they dont know. So how you supposed to search for something you dont even know. Not to sound like a jerk but i dont know, sorry.

Try reading some of the threads, as this is gone over all the time, I mean all the time. I realize you don't know, but there are thousands of threads, just enter timing into search if nothing else?

You do not need to pull any timing on shots of 150 and below, as long as no timing has been added in an aftermarket tune. However, the best way is still to log for a/f and knock retard for ultimate safety. Also, use the highest offered octane pump gas, and go one step colder plug.

I ran 170 dual stage on stock timing/fuel system with no kr. 70 dry 100 wet.

Edit: That's rwhp rating, and on a dual window switch on 93 pump.
