Default Solenoid mounting?

I'm going to order a wet kit from HSW. On the solenoid mount options, there is throttle body or intake mounts. Which place should they be mounted for best performance? Or is it simply cosmetic?
Thanks in advance.

It's cosmetic.

i believe also cosmetic. i have the intake mounts and they work great. perfect fit. i think it kinda spreads things out. looks less jumbled or complicated.

Yup, it's purely cosmetic. Let me know if you have any questions with them.

Thanks,
Matt

Yes they are. I cannot give you any specifics but the heat certainly cannot do them any good. The solenoids can be damaged by heat if they are left of for too long so it stands to reason if they are pre heated by the engine it is not good for them. Also I would think the extra heat would have a negative effect in the material they use for the seats.

I mounted mine to the cylinder head but I used some silicone mounts to insulate the mounting plate from the engine heat. The mounting plate is warm but comfortable to hold onto after the engine is up to temp. but the bracket that mounts to the head is so hot it will burn you if you try to hold on to it. My guess is that my solenoids stay at least 100* cooler that they would if they were not insulated.

Not sure, it would depend on the size of the solenoids. We offer our brackets in 2 styles for the larger solenoids and in one style for the smaller solenoids.

Thanks,
Matt

Sounds like the smaller solenoids. We have these ones that would fit:

Well, I went with the intake brackets. Problem is one of the fuel lines it too short! It's the perfect length... if I'd ordered the intake brackets instead.
Anybody else had this occur? And where can I pick up a longer fuel line if HSW doesn't just send me one?

Sorry, don't quite understand your issue. You say you ordered the intake brackets but the hose is too short, but would be fine if you went with the intake bracket lol. Please PM me your name.

Oops! I meant it would've reached if I'd ordered the throttle body brackets. My bad. Are the lines a different length? Sending a PM now.
