Default Advice on a nitrous system.

Hey everyone and thanks in advance for the info. All comments/question/criticism are welcome and appreciated. I have been thinkin about putting a nitrous system on the the car for awhile but wanted to do a good bit a research first, so here is my list for parts to order so far. This is going on a streat car that sees the track only a few times a year. Mods are below.
1.- TNT F1 kit, using 125hp shot
2.- Remote bottle opener(bottle will be in spare tire area)
3.- Ash tray switches
4.- Bottle heater
5.- Purge kit
6.- Timming tuner/Window
7.- NX FJO mini controller........ MIght go with the NO. digital switch instead
8.- AEM wideband controller & A/F gauge
9.- Fuel pressure gauge
10.- Bottle pressure gauge
11.- ZEX fuel pump booster
12.- FPSS
13.- TR6 plugs

My question/concerns
1.- I need to find out if the F1 ring will fit a 80mm T/B
2.- The FJO mini controller says it has a gear lockout, so I can stop it from spraying in 1st gear with an M6?
3.- The tuner has a built in window switch and so does the mini controller, can I just not use the window on the tuner and only use the one on the controller?

I think that is all I have for now and I think it is everything. Thanks a lot everyone.

Sounds like you have done your research and have come up with a very good parts list....you should not have an issue using both the timing tuner and the progressive controller.

I would suggest going with the Racetronix kit over the booster pump as even with the booster the stock pump can only flow so much,,,if you try to pull more fuel the the pump can flow it can cause cavitation.

Good point, I will be waiting a couple of months to install the system anyways untill after I move back to Fl, I didn't want to mess with an in tank one yet but since I am waiting anyways that might be a good idea.. Thanks. Anyone else? Also I'm not sure about using the progressive controller yet or not. Anyone think it is a good idea with this setup, I was thinking it would be a good idea to solve any traction issues but I might not need it.

A progressive is a good item to have for a track setup...there are so many variables when running on the street that your progressive settings are just good guesses.

our digital window switch with anygear lockout, can just lock out 1st gear to help with traction issues on the street, without breaking the bank....FJO $206 to $129 for the window switch

If you have not already, you can Download the FJO progressive controller software for free from the FJO site (fjoracing I think). That will give you an idea of what all you can do with it

I opted for the $129 switch Ray is referring to, it has the gear lockout too and has worked great on my two stage system.

Instruction sets for both are also availible for download at FJO site.

Hey thanks for the info guys I really appreciate the input. I'm gonna check out that software.
Also looking at that $129 switch, this might be a better idead for me. Looks like it has gear lock out, WOT activation and a window switch. I am guessing the WOT activation wires into the TPS signal and you don't even need the micro switch anymore? Also, that gear lock out, locks out the use of nitrous in that gear, correct, it doesn't lock out that gear for use right? Sorry if that sounds stupid.

The any gear lock out is an electronic feature...it reads the rpm only, when the rpm drops from shifting gears it activates the kit

I see. So say I am on the street and I arm the system, put my car in 3rd gear going 60mph and punch it, it is not going to let the nitrous kick in till the next shift, so there would be no spray in 3rd it would start in 4th. So I could just turn the gear lock out OFF on the street and ON at the track. Am I thinking correctly here. Thanks for helping a new to nitrous guy out.
