Default Spark Plugs

Not sure what to do to my plugs. Should i pull one out and see what they are gapped at? The car is also a procharged d-1. I will be running up to a 300-400 shot. 200 per stage. What type of plug should i run?

the only thing that I'd expect to survive would be a racing style plug like the autolite AR472 or equal.

You need a full race style plug. Non projected tip, very cold heat range , short ground strap.

It sounds like the internet has sold you a bad bill of goods in the advice column. You can pretty much count on picking up the pieces with a shovel if you hit an LS1 with a D1SC and 300 - 400 of nitrous. You've got a lot more than plugs to worry about my friend.

You might be looking in the wrong area to start. The times and mph you're running with that HP seems way off. You should be able to pick up a ton if you work on what you have first. Just a suggestion.

I agree with Eric, it's hard enough to get an LS1 to handle 300 - 400 worth of nitrous alone on a built nitrous motor, but boost and 300 - 400 worth of nitrous and like said, you'll be picking up the pieces! Work on maximizing what you have now before you go trying to throw a bunch of nitrous at ur motor! You should be going a lot faster with ur setup!

Not sure, don't know ur entire setup, what kind of boost, how much power/tq, raceweight, etc. But on motor alone with my car being all setup for spray I have 8 mph on you according to ur 1/8th times in ur sig! I would also work on ur 60' and gettin the power to the ground that you already have before adding more. Dont' know if ur setup doesn't leave hard enough or if ur spinning to the 1.6's though, so if it just doesn't leave hard enough, then you need more if that's what ur planning on.

I mean with a built motor, h/c, procharger, you should be destroying my car with me on motor. I also just noticed ur power in ur sig, at that level, I would say depending on raceweight and 60', you should be at least in the mid - low 10's @ high 120's to 130's.

I'm only running about 8-9lbs of boost. The cam in there now is a pretty big one so i cant get the boost any higher without overturnning the d-1. I some times run the car up to 7000 rpm so it maxes out pretty fast. (I need a f-1) The track in Irvington is a couple of feet shorter than a acatual 1/8 track(mph low). I also want to get a higher stall in the th400 it only has a 3000 b/c its a street car also. (to get the 60' down lower) The car does not spin when i launch out the hole. I have a 4 link setup with a moser rear so it will always hook up. I also have done a 1/4 run on a mustang dyno and i ran low 11's but it was spinning on the dyno when i took off. Keep in mind that i have done all this with the car way out of wack (untuned b/c the new cam) I have not even tried to spray the nitrous yet b/c the tune is out. I did have a dry setup that did not work right but just converted to a wet setup and still is in mobile getting tuned. This will be the first time i actually spray it!
