has anyone tried out the LS7 setup on nitrous?

going to have to replace the clutch soon, not sure what to go with.
the spec clutches seem to be hit or miss, and i want a textralia but it costs quite a bit...

 

Not a great race clutch, stick with the Aussie clutch or you'll be doing another clutch install later.

I've had the spec, centerforce, and the mcleod. The mcleod twin disc is one sweet clutch. Its as expensive as the textralia if not more expensive. So I concur with Roberts comments. Stick with what you know works.

BTW, my clutch needs to be replaced from 2 seasons of clutch slips, but fortunately the Mcleod is rebuildable so I won't have to spend much fixing it. Just some food for thought.

Oh yeah. those other clutches I had were trash. Not worth the packaging they come in. just my .02 cents

 

IIRC there was a new LS7 ZO6 with nitrous posting some 700hp or close to it, and it ran the stock LS7 clutch. Might want to hit up the Z06 section, or the other forum on that.

 

my spec3 has 40k on it.. i sold LUK clutches for a LOOOOOOOONG time.. approx 90% of premature clutch failures are due to improper installs

 

I don't know about that? I do know that bone stock C6 Z06 are having a hard time launching and must use about a 3000/3500rpm launch or it'll slip. That's with stock low 4xx rwhp. The one C6 Z I know of running in the 9's has an afermarket, IIRC. If you do check out the c6 Z06 section at corvetteforum, that is the biggest complaint, the stock clutch.

Well hopefully by the end of the month I will be able to give you feedback on this clutch kit & spray. Thats the clutch I'm running along with the other mods in my sig. My best all motor pass right now is a 12.9 @ 109 w/2.0 60' on street tires. As of right now I couldn't be happier with the performance of the clutch so far.

My HSW single nozzle kit will be in this week & installed soon after. Will be starting off with a dry 100 shot.
