I used to ream carb jets all the time. When you're at the track, you just have to. If you have a reaming set (snap-on.. nothing less) it was very accurate. Now, having said all that.. HELL NO I WOULDN'T DO IT IF YA DON'T HAVE TO. With jets so cheap, it's not worth it. When I did it before, we would throw them away when we left the track. No way of knowing what the hell they were later.
The only reason why i ever did that was is that i could stock tons of tiny jets and then just resize them to the ones we needed at the track. It always sucked when i had to have 16+ of every single size they made. Now i just needed 16 total and i could adjust and keep going bigger and bigger till it was perfect.
Yes they are cheap, but, not when you have to test and fine tune engines and buy a new jet per nozzle, per size.
