I honestly don't know what others are doing, but I just did one today that was a 175 FW equiv hit on a stock bottom end and I'm keeping him at about 11.4:1-11.8:1 with a timing map made just for the bottle that is pulling about 5-6degress down low moving up to about -3 degrees up top. Tuned on the street

I run 11.8-12.0 NA and about 11.4-11.6 on the bottle.

yeah what i found was that the jets in the nos wet kit are spot on for a/r. though i run 12.7 na nitrous was 12.5s with the 175 jetting. i went 2 steps richer and it went 10.5s. so the way i see it and have tested it was that the jets recommended plus 1 richer on the fuel will drop your na a/r down one full point.

Not all cars are going to require the same setting...get it on a dyno, watch the scan, and see where it needs to be. That's the only way to be sure.

dynos give false reading. there is more load on a vehicle while it is driving. a dyno tune is good, a track tune is better.

BS ALERT!!! Many chassis dynos, those that can accurately simulate a specific vehicle's load, are excellant tools for getting a safe nitrous tune on. With them, it is much easier to monitor if it is going lean, fuel pressure losses, detonation, etc for a quick shutdown before damaging something. A high percentage of new nitrous installs tested on our dyno could not pass a full run without serious problems detected. If it were me, I would test a new nitrous installation on a real dyno with a good operator before hitting it on the street or the track.
