Default Could I lean out a shot to make it bigger?

I am just wondering can you safely lean out a smaller shot to make it a bigger shot. I mean people run dry shots, so can you do this to not use as much nitrous or "stretch" the bottle? Would it throw the A/F ratio off?

you will throw your AF ratio off. You have to stay within safe parameters as far as AF ratio and timing. The ONLY reason you need to do that is #1 to make best power and #2 and most importantly to ensure there is no detonation. Detonation = engine death.

if you at 10 to 1 Af ratio on a 150 shot you are well withing safe parameters and really a lil to rich. You could then add more nitrous (with a wet kit only) and lean it out for a bigger shot (in very small increments!)

But if your at 12.5 to 1 on a 150 shot it would be unwise to go leaner. Actually you would either want ti reduce your nitrous jet or increase your fuel jet to get to a safer AF ratio.

What about if I'm running propane as fuel? Wouldn't that help defend against detonation?

It will due to the higher octane. But you still really need to be in a good AF ratio range.
If your running a high enough octane that you will not detonate at say...13 to 1 on a 100 shot...your power will absolutely suck.

So in this case it would be better to run a 100 shot at say 11.8 to 1 Af and on pump gas and 24-26 degrees of timing.

remember the reason to use nitrous is to oxidize fuel. Nitrous doesnt make power. It allows you to burn more fuel which results in the aditional cylinder pressure and resulting power.

yeah forgot about that. thanks. Do you guys have any idea of a bottle bracket that will hold a standard propane tank?
