Default can i install pressure gauge and blowdown tube with full bottle?

well i have a full bottle of the juice and the spots to install a blowdown tube and a pressure gauge sending unit on the bottle valve have caps in them right now. will i be able to remove them and install the sending unit and blowdowntube without emptying the bottle and just leaving the valve closed or will i need to drain the bottle to install them?

also if i need to drain the bottle, does that mean everytime i need to fill it up again, i will need to drain it COMPLETELY down like this or is there something else i can do? thanks for any help.

DO NOT REMOVE THE PLUGS WHILE FULL!!! either drain the bottle or use all the bottle, any time im doing work to the bottle i always keep the valve open just as a safty precaution.

as for your second question no you do not need to drain the bottle everytime time before you fill it.

Agreed, the fitting for the tube has to be installed empty. The disk is not going to magically hold back the pressure.

The gauge is on the valve side, so you are fine with it closed. We refill partial bottles all the time.

Like other said NO...for the pressure gauge but yes for the other. I will go on record as saying I am a complete fool for actually trying it. Yes...I know, why? Anyways a bottle shooting around the garage like a rocket is not cool...I can laugh about it now but it was not funny at the time.

the blowoff valve stays on the bottle. the tube unscrews from the valve

I also put a #8 cap on the blow down fitting when transporting, just to be safe.

Just don't leave in a vehicle when it's hot out with a cap on.

I may be a little confused, I agree with the blow down tube disconnects from the blowdown value, But on my 10 # bottles from
HSW which I beleave are CF bottles, the pressure guage is in the bottle BEFORE the value and if removed when bottle is filled, the bottle becaumes a rocket , I do not know any thing about any other brand, both my bottles are pressure on the guages at all time filled
just my .02' Johnny

You are absolutely correct. Newer bottles have built in gauge opening. My older bottles are what I was picturing when I wrote that. The gauge gets hooked to the output adapter. Good catch, before someone got hurt.
