Default Newbie....im lost

I'm not sure if its the lack of sleep or what but i cant figure out what to do. Ive got a bone stock 01 SS and I'm about to through on a lid and bassani exhaust but Ive been thinking of going ahead and installing a 50 shot" for now" on it as well. Heres my dilemma I know I'm wanting to stay with a dry shot but i dint understand what all i need. I mean i keep seeing these plate systems but I'm thinking those are strictly for wet setups. Is that true? I'm sure your just going to tell me to look at the stickies but i figured i might as well ask. Maybe my head will be better in the morning. thanks Jeremy

Dry kits are plumbed with a nozzle shooting Nitrous only before the MAF. The MAF reads the increase in O2 and has the PCM add the needed fuel through the injectors.

Plate kits are in fact wet, fuel is added through the plate (Easier to tune than dry).

I am going to venture a guess that a 50 shot will end up to a 100 shot pretty quickly , when doing my setup, I could barely feel a 50 shot (of course I am rather large...so maybe it was the added weight in the car ).

You are going to need a base Dry system that any of the forum nitrous vendors can hook you up with. In addition you will need colder plugs (TR6's), a bottle heater, and a window switch.

Well for a dry set up with a stock computer (not BS3 or similar), you have to spray in front of the MAF. So the plate set ups are for wet shots. Most dry set ups out there fog the lid, some are one nozzle set ups and some are two.

Also a 50 shot is nothing so you may want to consider starting with a 75 shot. Or give the 50 a try and work your way up.

Besides the kit, you'll want to pick up a window switch, some colder plugs, and a bottle heater. That's pretty much the bare minimium of what you'll want to get. Just check out the stickies real good and do plenty of searching before your purchases. Keep in mind what your future goals are and pick a set up that will grow with you.

EDIT: Damit I'm so slow today, Beer beat me to it.

For A 50 A Dry Will Be Fine.
