Default Finally hit a decent sized shot again!!!

I've just been lurking for a while and haven't posted much, but I finally got a kit on the car that I could hit a decent shot with again and went out last night to test it out!

I put travel limiters on the car, but something is up with them, longest hole gives me full travel, but only one hole down only gives me like an inch to inch and half of travel, don't know what's up with them, here's a couple pics, anyone see anything that could be wrong?

Anyways, first pass I tried the limiters one hole down, and the front barely moved, didn't even lift and blew the tires off to a 1.38 60' and I lifted at the 1/8th so I didn't get booted on a pass I spun.

So next pass I put the limiters back at full extension and all I can say is what a f'in ride!!!!! I wish somebody would have gotten video, cuz it was sick!!!! It went up and just kept goin and when I thought it was gettin too high I pedaled down to 3/4 throttle felt it start to fall a little and layed back into it and was able to control it and keep it off the bumper and landed smooth, everyone said the bumper was about an inch or two from the ground and rode it out like that for 100 - 150 feet!!! It hurt the ET and MPH, especially in the 1/8th, but the car still ran out to a 9.69 @ 141.22!

Oh yeah, this was also only with one bottle cuz something is wrong with the valve on one of my bottles so I just ran one and after the 1/8th the a/f dropped from mid/high 10's (where I want it) to mid 9's for the rest of the run, yuck!!!

Anyways, it was nice to be back behind the wheel of a fast *** car again, motor was starting to get really boring!!!

Yeah, i'm hittin the same size shot, but the car has picked up with the 90/90, so i'm expecting to go better than the 9.4. That wheel stand killed my 1/8th, and even with the car goin so fat on the big end, it pulled 29 mph from 1/8th to 1/4, used to only pull 27 or so, plus it's just picked up power in general.

I'm hopin if I can get these limiters figured out and find the sweet spot I should be able to get the 60' down in the 1.2's and see 9.1's - 9.2's out of her!

I sat last season out, just to busy at work and saving for a house. I've been collecting parts though, should be good for some high 9.70s this year.

Wish I could help you out with the limiters. Seems like you should be getting more adjustment out of them. Are they from Madman?

9.7's would be nice, are you upgrading the safety equip too (that's the biggest pain in the ***, I still haven't gotten my license yet)?

Yeah, my biggest safety thing I have to do is a 10 point. I'm having a hard time finding someone to TIG the cage togethor for me. There is also a ton of other stuff but our track will let me slide through if I'm not competing. If I stick to private TNTs I could probrably get away with just the 6 point.

Yeah, I just finally put a window net in last week, just gotta get the chassis cert now, but starting '08 we're gonna need an engine diaper too and for some dumb reason my local track is already requiring it as one of their rules, so I gotta pick one of them up. I really don't wanna put one of those on the car though, seems like more of a hazard than safety too me!!

You must run NHRA? I think the diaper rule for cars under 150mph is kind of extreme myself. Especially if they require it to be and SFI diaper, those ******* are like $750 and no one makes a specific one for an LS1 yet. I'm hoping IHRA doesn't adpot that rule. I have to pick up a rule book in the next couple of weeks.

With that rule being put into effect, all the cheaper diapers will be starting to put sfi labels on them, I will be pickin up the RCI diaper when I need it, the fitment is gonna be a bitch! Our track does an extended tech for the racers where they'll tech ur car really strictly and give ya a sticker on ur cage that's good for 1 year, so until it expires, you don't have to tech the car again, so i'm probably gonna put it on, go do extended tech, take it right off and not worry about puttin it back on for another year!
