Default v6 Firebird w/Nitrous

Hi all, I'm new...

I just wanted to say that I had a v6 Firebird and installed the NOS 5150 80 HP (I think that was the kit #) and it really gave me a great torque feel. I actually killed a C4 vette with it. But I had a spooky time one day and there was a huge POP and it cracked the lid and the retainers went to mars.

I am afraid of N20 now. I just grabbed a mint C5 and would like to super charge it. Do I need to worry about similar problems. Gas going lean, not enough gas, etc...

I have been researching but I am still in the dark...

did you hit the rev limiter when this "pop" occured?

As long as you have your supercharge installed and or tuned by a reputable shop and your fuel system is up to par you shouldn't have any issues with it.

No, I just stepped on it (automatic with WOT switch)... It was in the right RPM range too but it was VERY hot outside... I'm thinking it was the heat but it still scared the shift out of me... I need to find a shop around here... Anyone in the Virginia Beach area know of a good shop?

Thanks, I haven't even looked yet but wanted some references from others, especially here...

I asked this in another thread and it has not been answered: is it ricey to badge your regular c5 with z06 stuff and get the real breake cooling aftereffects?

I don't know and certainly don't want to look like an idiot...
