Default Pressure senser and heater pressure switch inline or on bottle?

I was going to put my fp pressure sensor and pressure switch for the heater inline so i could disconnect the bottle easily but then again i would have to have the bottle open just to check pressure or to use the warmer.

Any ideas? If I do place it on the bottle I won't be able to switch between bottles and keep the pressure sensor and heater function.

I put my Heater pressure switch on the bottle (I have two bottles and each has its own heater switch). Reason being if it was on the Main Line the bottle would have to be open for the it to work (Bottle closed, sensor on mainline, sensor read 0 pressure, bottle would be heated continuously, possibly to over pressure). Being Nitrous is $5.50/lb, I am stingy with it, and wont open it unless I am going to use it.

For the Nitrous Pressure sending unit I put that on the mainline and used a Dynotune swivel adapter for that, and an 860 Performance -4 wingnut so I do not need any tools to take the mainline off.

If your bottle does not have two ports (say you want a mechanical gauge on it as well), you can do something like this my earlier set up.

Above is my dynotune bottle. Whats different now is the wingnut and swivel fitting for the pressure sensor instead of the stainless steel -4 Adapter.

you pretty much answered your own question.

I prefer directly into the bottle because it becomes fail-safe. If you forget to plug the switch in, the heater wont come on. And you don't have to open the bottle valve to heat the bottle. This is the idiot-proof way of doing it. The only down-side is if you have multiple bottles, you would need one pressure switch for each bottle.

Beer,

I'm getting the rest of those switches in the mail shortly and I'm using a rotary switch to change the pressure sensors for the pressure gauge. I'll send them to you when I get them all and shoot you an e-mail with the new diagram if you could shoot me an estimate back. Thanks again for your patience...

I don't really like the cluttered look on the bottle but oh well. I guess I'm going to have to find some connectors and wire loom to clean it up a little...thanks for the response.

860Performance,

Great products, plate seems very sturdy and the bottle heater is almost too nice to hide in the spare tire compartment...it matches the dynotune opener nicely...

No problem, stuck offshore till the end of next week anyways. Should be able to cut it same day the design is finished ...

I agree the 860 Performance Bottle bracket/heater is a slick piece. Thats whats gonna go in my 73 Charger once I stop dumping $ into the Vette.
