A/F window switch
A/F window switch I seem to remember a product out there that would kill the nitrous system if your A/F got outside of a set range. I thought dynotune made it but I cant seem to find it on their website or any of my other bookmarked sites. Anyone got a link to it?

No its not a FPSS. It was a lil black box with 2 ***** on the face (2 if i remember correctly). One of them you set the lower end of the A/F number and the other one you set to the upper end. If your A/F gets outside of this window then the box will shut off your nitrous system. I remember them being out of stock when I bookmarked the vendors site but now I cant seem to find them period. Hopefully they're still being made.
I can't imagine using something like this on a street vehicle. The only way you could get accurate readings is with a wideband o2 sensor, seeing how the narrow band o2 sensor that comes with your car isn't even used at WOT. So that means you would be running a wide band o2 sensor 24/7... which is a no no....
Well i'm hoping to pick up a wide band here in a few weeks from that group purchase thats going on so I was thinking I'd hook it up to that. As far as running the Wideband 24/7 I guess I'll just have it hooked up to my nitrous system so its only on when the nitrous sys is active.

And whats wrong with running a wideband sensor on the street. I do it everytime my car runs, and its been like that for the past 3 years. Some OEM cars run wideband sensors.

Fast 93Z tried to use one on his car and it would not work in conjuction with the progressive controller. You may shoot him a pm for a practically brand new one at a discount.

We have used the DynoJet WBC to do that 
You can tie it in to do A/F, RPM and TPS all in one.
Biggest problem to over come is you have to make sure your N2O system is dialed in and not to much of a lean spike on the hit or it will just bounce in and out going on and off non stop.
BTW the system is designed to be ran NON stop when the car is running. the only problem you will have is if you do not feed the O2 power when the car is running. If you do it will ruin the sensor. IF you install the WBC correctly it is not an issue.

Ellis, i was planning on running a N.O.S. mini progressive controller and a "PLX" wideband (group purchase from this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...t=674815&page=5).. will we be able to use these together without problems? or is there something else i need? im kinda confused right now..

I would have to see the controler but they should work together. They use different inputs(guessing) and the Wideband only tell the N2O to turn on or off on a ground circuit(I am guessing again).

Im pretty sure the dynojet widebandhas a function that you can use when you go lean. I have a dynojet wideband, just havent had time to set it and see it work. It also has a light that you can have come on for a set point you want on your A/F to warn you.

I was under the impression widebands were used just for tuning purposes only. Seeing how expensive just the sensor is, I figured most people tuned their tables on a dyno with a wideband, and then went back to a narrow band when they got off a dyno. The only exception I've heard of this are track only cars...
