Default Plug readers inside, please...

These look ok? I've been spraying 100 shot through Dave's plate with an intake and catback. Thanks for any input.

You're not going to get a read off of those plugs as it looks like they've been driven on motor quite a bit. You'll need to shut the car off immediately after a full throttle hit and coast to a stop and then pull the plugs.

You'll really want a lighted 10x magnifier to look down at the base of the porcelain for the first signs of any detonation. If there is detonation, without that tool you'll already be getting a lot by the time you see it with your eyes.

No. The car is begging for a colder plug hence the oiling on the threads.

Cut the threads off of one nad take some more close up pics of the porcelain and then some of the ground strap.

How many miles on the plugs? Is that oil on the threads?

Yeah, I thought the oiling on the threads was kinda strange. I've got the car at LG for some headers, but I'll try this again when I get it back. What's the next colder plug from TR6? Thanks for the advice!

You are showing the wrong part of the plug. You need to look inside at the base of the porcelain. Besides, you can only get a good reading after a full run, shutting down the engine immediately after the run while you're slowing down.

If you are going to spray, your plugs are the lifeline of your motor. I'd be changing those plugs more often and 10k is way too many miles for my comfort level.

I'm not sure about the oiling being the wrong heat range in this case. His setup is pretty much stock with a 100 shot. The TR6 is usually a good range for that power level. Do you think his rings could be worn and he's seeing blow by causing that?

You could spray 100 shot without fuel on a LSx and get away with it. LOL

You can't really tell to much from those pics. You need to look up on yahoo "how to read your plugs" Then you can do it yourself which is always going to be better then a picture on a computer.

I've always had some oil on the threads of my plugs whenever I pull them out of my LT1. Is this typical of any plugs from a SBC? Or just Gen III?

For the thread maker: Use a digital camera with the "digital macro" function. It allows you to take extremely closeup photos so that we would be able to read the plugs better on the screen. Also like the others said, make sure you get the pics of the ground strap and the base of the porcelain.
