Default MSD Switch

I have a MSD window switch (Part # 89561). Will this work on a 2002 WS6? I thought that it was hooked up right, but I can't get it to hit. I have the red to a switched 12v source, black to a ground, white to the tach, and yellow hooked up to the ground side of the WOT switch. What am I missing here? I have it set to open a 3000 rmp's and shut off at 6000. Any help would be appreciated.

Normally the yellow will control the ground to the relay

red wire above = white wire below
white wire above = green wire below
ignore blue and orange below

Yeah, I have a relay. I have not blown a fuse. From the looks of things, I just had my MSD switch hooked up wrong. I wasn't using the yellow to control the relay. I have it controlling the WOT switch. I've been reading up on these window switches and it says that I need to make it for a 4cyclinder. Does this pertain to this switch or just other models? Thanks for all the help guys.

One more question. I just replace the ground on the relay with the yellow wire from the MSD switch correct? If so, where and how does the relay ground? Nevermind, the relay grounds through the MSD switch after 3000RPM's correct? Sorry for the newb questions. Thanks.

Someone on here posted a diagram of a window switch with the yellow wire going to the ground of the WOT switch, just like you have it. Will that really not work? Also, how do you go to 4 cyl mode on the window switch with the pills? I though that was just for the digital version.

the pill window switch has two wires coming out of the box and running back into itself, i forget what colors they are, but they are very small...just cut them both in half and that set the switch to 4 banger mode...

Well, it works for about 1 second then shuts off. Is this an indicator of it getting more than 1.5 amps? Or could this be a problem with the pills or switch itself? Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

Yes they are cut. The only one left is the gray loop. I think it's hooked up right. I'm about to the conclusion that it is either a bad box or bad pills.

One more thing. There is a shift light hooked up to the tach as well as the window switch. Would this cause a problem.

i test that everything is working by lifting the lid and holding it up with something so that it is far away from the nozzles.
arm the wot switch with a stick or if you have room, tape it or clamp it to be armed.
with the car running, go under the hood.
hold something above nozzles so it doesn't spray into the intake like cardboard, flat plastic, or even a folded towel but don't block the air going into the intake or it will die. make sure that none of your body parts like skin are in the way of the nozzles!!!!
pull the throttle above 3k rpm's, of course you can't tell for sure when your at 3k so keep going until it sprays or when you think you are way above 3k.

if you have another person have them push the pedal to rev 3k+ to see if it sprays.
i also do this to purge the lines.

i have my 5177 dry set up like this

Everything is hooked up correctly I think. I'm pretty sure its hooked up correctly because I can by pass the window switch and hook a ground back on the relay it works fine. Once I hook the window switch back up, it will hit at 3000rpms but shuts off like 1/2 a second later. In other words it won't continue spraying through the whole window. This kit is an F2 kit BTW. Can anyone think of anything that I might be missing?

Do you have a fuel pressure saftey switch, if you do it could be bad or not have enough fuel pressure and be disarming the system. The msd might not be your problem.

No fuel pressure safety switch. Like I said before, it hits harder than hell when the window switch is by passed.

just throwing **** out but have you tried other pills? if everything else set up works without the ws then it looks like your ws is bad. gonna be shitty but you might have to get another window switch to see if that one is bad.

The pills were my next step. If that don't work, then I guess I'll have to admit defeat and get another switch. I was just wanting to make sure there wasn't something small I was missing before I got another switch.
