Need some help chosing fuel............
) when I race at the track to help lower the chance of KR and detonation. Basically just a safety precaution........Now I usually just run my cars fuel down to 1/8 tank or lower and add about 2-3 gallons of race fuel in the tank at the track via my race can.
Is this a good idea and if so, what octane should I run to get the best results? Is 101 too low octane?
Thanks in advance!!
If you're just throwing in some at the track, use some 104 unleaded, or whatever the highest unleaded octane is. With your shot size that should be excellent insurance.
I always thought adding race fuel on top of your gas in the tank wouldn't mix to well but I see lots of people do it at the track with larger shots without issues.

I was just wondering if 101 was a waste and if I should use higher octane. I guess I'll use 104 or higher. I though there was such thing as a waste at some point........like using 110 for instance in my setup might not be the best as oposed to 104 or something.
I add a few gallons on top of a low tank of 92 and prey that is what I'm supposed to be doing for that added insurance. Hopefully someone really educated can post up and school me.
