What heads?

I thought the ESP car was on stock castings.

I think the thicker deck aftermarket castings will help some.

For what it's worth, I think Ryan (RPM-24) has a great approach - tons of power on motor and a smaller shot. That car is flyin.

Really, tons of power and a shot on top of it and it will fly....Good thinking

He has a BIG MONEY motor set up.

C5R short block , Pimp heads and a sick *** intake.

More money in his motor than I have in the whole car.

I'm trying to figure out this post. Are you implying that I'm stating the obvious? And is it a bad thing that he has the best money can buy

so when I do a lsx or dart with 6 head bolts do you think it would take a 450shot? Is their a streetable bottom end setup that would take it? Or would I just be rebuilding it all the time?

He will also have to worry about keeping the car itself down, So his car won't look like yours but a bit higher.

My advice, like most of the big sprayers have said allready, if you have deep pockets go with the LSX block and have a pro builder put it together and tune it. A 500 shot even on a well built motor needs a special spot on tune. Knowledge is key here for survival. I would back down on the shot and learn the game first, or it will cost big $$ to jump head first into the mega shot arena. Even a stock longblock can handle a 250/300 shot if done correctly, but over that, even on a forged motor, your really getting into specialized knowledge area. Good luck on what ever approch you take.

I was going to try a 600 shot but I made over 800 on one stage of 300. I think I am going to bring the second stage down to 200 to make it a 500 shot. I have iron 412 with Dart (TEA) heads with 1/2 head studs and a cometic gasket. I have 1200 dollar Diamond pistons with billet rods and a lunati crank. I have hellfire rings and big nasty nitrous solid roller with 13.5 compression. We shall see but I would like to make 1K on the chassis dyno

Hey, just wanted to let you know that theres a great article in the May GmHitech performance about a big shot nitrous car. Ya might wanna glance at it if you get a moment. Hes doing a 408 with a 300 shot and is almost in the 8's. So i guess im curious if to whether you realize how huge a 500 shot really is...

Yes, on top of what the motor makes. It's a 632ci Sonny's in a 67 Camaro and I think it was around 1200 on motor.

If you want to figure lbs/run... I go through 3.5 lbs on my little shot so you can figure he's a bit more
