Default Wideband Guages

does anyone who uses the gauges with the different color LED's on the outer rim ( i .e. the 2 1/16 FJO guage with bar graph on nitrous outlet) as opposed to the gauges with JUST the digital read out regret going with them? or visa versa? i like the look of the different color LED's but some people say the constant changing lights get annoying.

I liked the way MY FJO looked did not bother my at all. While cruising very little bouncing around, sure a few leds no big deal.
There 40 led units are very bright.

With all the flashing lights after a few minutes you will want to drive into a bridge abutment. (joke) I hate the flashing lights....during the day its not bad as you cant see them, at night its a disco show

I'm hoping on the autometer widebands that the LEDs aren't any brighter than on the current one I'm using. I can't wait to get a wideband, I suppose the only thing the lights can tell me is well red at WOT would be bad. I hardly notice the lights, but I mounted my gauge beneath my cd player.

The ones with the ring of LEDs (i.e. Autometer) only jump around if the signal going to the gauge is a narrowband signal (centered on 14.7) since that fluctuates 0-1v all the time. If you have a programmable output like on an LM1 you could set it to say 11-15 over the voltage range and since the sensor would read roughly the same afr most of the time the lights won't move as much. Like they said its not bad during the day, and personally I didn't mind it at night, but I like to see what it's doing even if I already know.

PLX has one with # display and leds around it. I think it is a DM-5.

As stated above - the dancing led light show is most pronounced when using the Autometer A/F gage that uses your stock narrowband sensor - that gage is basically useless and will become rather annoying as the leds will dance back and forth rapidly/constantly.

When using the true WB sensor kits and led display gages - the leds are no where near as anoying as they follow the signal rather closely & the signal is much more accurate than your NB signal.

The FJO unit I used has an option to see only 1 led movng around. OR can have leds left on as the air fuel rises. Something like a bar graph on a curve.
