Not at all, the purpose of a direct port is to get a nozzle in each runner to ensure even distribution. Most manifolds force you to put the nozzle damn close to the head because of space restraints. But with these manifolds we have the oppertunity to put the nozzle anywhere in the runner, and the runners are plenty long.
My preference is to pull them back giving it a chance to fan out some before entering the head.
