Spraying in first gear

Spraying in first gear I've got an A4 and was wondering if it would be wise to wait until i hit second gear to spray a dry 100 shot, or if I would be okay to spray above 3k in first gear.
Right now im leaning towards waiting till second but if you've done it w/o a problem feel free to chime in.

A4 I had a 98 Z28 A4 , 373 gears and exhaust. I sprayed through all gears with a WOT switch. It was a 125 wet shot. I never had one problem with it, well except traction.
I sold the car about a year ago with 130K miles on it, and it is still on the road today. This might not be typical , but it worked fine for me.

i hate my ET streets i dont think they will hold my car when i hit the nitrous. i hope they work better for you. 11s should be possiblei was running 12.8s and on a 150 shot went 11.4. and im a 6sp so your auto should hold its better. i also hit it off the line

well i went to the track and out of two runs my best was a 12.2 
, but like a weiner i waited till the verrry top of first to spray. My 60' was a soft 2.01, so im hoping with a better short time and spraying sooner i get that 11 timeslip.
