Default went to the dyno today, 150 shot =85hp????

Drove many hours to get the car tuned today and I was running a 150 hp shot and it only made 85 hp? I called the company and asked why and they said the nozzle they sent me will not support a 150 rwhp shot? So what nozzle will I need? I thought these kits were rated at the wheels, It is a single nozzle wet kit.

Bottle pressure was 975, nozzle is between the throttle body and mass air.

Its the harris speedworks sudden impact kit. I talked to matt yesterday when I was at the dyno and he is the one that told me the nozzle would not support 150 shot. The closest dyno for me is 6 1/2 hours away and I wish I could have been told when I bought the kit that it would only do 80 to 100 with the 150 jetting in it. I am running a walbro 255 pump with 30# ford injectors. My air fuel was fine on the dyno, actually really good but I watched a gto with a NX kit jetted for 150 pick up 180 rwhp just before my car went on. Talk about a let down. I talked to matt again today and I need the upgraded black mamba nozzle to get the 150 rwhp shot. Should I go with an upgraded nozzle or get a second stage?

I'd ditch the peice of **** nitrous kit that only makes 80hp on the 150 jets. My car made 446/509 otherwise stock with the 150 jets through an auto with the TNT F1 kit.

Well that is pretty sucky, i think if you ordered the 150 shot then i think everything in that kit should support a well, 150 shot

Correct me if I am wrong but some kits are rated at the flywheel not the rear wheels. That is where the deviation lies!

Correct, you purchased our kit when it was shipping with the Silver Bullitt nozzle and crank HP jetting (we changed these kits to our Black Mamba nozzle a little over a year ago and revised the jetting to rwhp). I don't know if you miss-read the website at that time, but we NEVER offered a kit with RWHP jetting. Since then we do, along with a nozzle with a larger orifice. If you want to run a larger shot & have RWHP then you will have to move up to the BM nozzle with new jets. Do a search, most people running the SI kits how they ship now are making a bit more then what they are jetted for.

Exactly! The kit he purchsed was rated at the crank, the current kits are rated at the rear wheels. The "base" nozzle is good to a 325+ shot size and the solenoids will flow enough to support a 175 RWHP shot!

See, that sucks. A customer fails to read about the product, then gets on here and tries to run down a sponsor when it's the CUSTOMER'S FAULT. Not cool.

It isn't a fault matter, it is a presumption that most kits are rated at the rear wheels not at the flywheel/crank. I mean as a gear head who rates at the crank, to us it is all about what it punishes the ground with.

Matter of fact he didn't even mention the kit or manufacturer in his OP, it wasn't until he got hounded about it, that he listed the kit he has.

I think most manufacturers now conservatively rate at the rear wheels for their kits, to skip the dissappointment.

Well put Azrael although it is kind of disappointing he found out it was rated at the crank after he was on the dyno(wether it was his fault or not)

Maybe wrong but I think 10 years ago all kits were rated at the crank....it has just been relatively recently that most kits are rated at the rear wheels. I think NX started the trend. You are right it didn't seem as if he was trying to bash, considering he didn't even mention the manufacturer until he was repeatedly asked.

I am not trying to bash anyone, Matt has been very helpful and great to deal with. I also have no problem with the products they sell. Maybe I just assummed it was at the wheels like every other kit out there rates them, my bad. I also didn't want to list who's kit it was, I was just looking for answers or suggestions. I apoligize to Matt if it sounded like I was bashing, he has treated me very well.
