Default Building A 408 What Cam?

Just getting ready to build a 408. Im going to use my same heads 11-1 comp. and just wanted to know what cam would work the best with F2 KIT spraying a 250 shot or more. I didnt know if there was a good cam out there or if you guys would recomend a custom grind cam and what size. Set up with be a t400 with 373 gears. thanks

Just get a nice aggressive cam your happy with for n/a needs. unless your NHRA bound or a dedicated bracket car, a dedicated nitrous cam is not needed. I am thinking about the MS 4 cam for my 408, and I'll be spraying 300 also. A nitrous cam will allow the nitorus to be more effective, but at the hinderence of n/a power.

I'm thinking about going with the MS-3 with 113 LSA I see the MS-4 only comes in 111-112, or is it not that big of a deal?

yea, a 113 would be better for the nitrous side for sure, imo, but for a good n/a 500rwhp the ms4 might be better. So trade offs for sure. How much better 113 would be, not sure, but I believe it would help the exhaust side out for nitrous. Maybe some of the cam geeks will see this and have some additional insight. (cam geek-a good thing)

My cam is a 236/242 608/612 on a 115. Its all about what you want to run for the most part. I went for a more spray freindly cam as you can see with the 115 you can get a ms3 or ms4 on whatever lsa you want from comp cams. They use standard comp catalog lobes on tsp's cams.

I used a FM13 114 for my LS1 and continued using it in my 408 - mid tens all day long and easy on the street. I want a bit more chop and a better match for my motor so Allan cut me a custom cam 6 months ago that matched my system. My car will be down for a month to prepare for the summer racing, but i'll report back on my Futral Motorsports Custome grind pushing a progressive 400 shot through my Nitrous Outlet plate on a 408. (Bring on Pinks All Out @ Bristol !!)

Havent really even driven the truck with new motor.. But heres a 408 iron block, 10:1 CR, with an ms3 and open cutout, incase you wanted to see what an ms3 sounds like in a 408 since some guys here suggested it. Its a 113LSA as well.
