Default LC-1 standalone gauge kit or LM-1

hey guys, search wasnt working last night so sorry if this has been beaten around.
i understand that the LM1 gives real time readings, but does the LC1 with gauge get the same reading? just want to know if i will be as safe or close with the LC1, ive read that other A/F gauges arent real time readings and by the time they go lean its too late.
it looks like with the standalone gauge kit you are paying mostly for the gauge, which i'll admit i really like

my understanding so far is that the LM1 is great for tuning, and has many capabilities. im not ready to tackle the tuning side yet, but i would like an accurate realtime a/f reading. also, im not reallly sure what a lamda reading is?
thanks guys

LM-1 has capabilities of data logging to the unit itself and then downloaded later, LC-1 will need to be hooked up to a laptop for data logging. Both will yield same readings on a gage, and both can be used to hook up to tuning so???are.

The major difference is the LC-1 has a reputation for being a difficult unit to install (wiring wise), where the LM-1 is much simpler being it is powered from the cigarette lighter. I have the LC1 and it took me a while to get it up and running (but it is up and running and logging nicely to EFI Live).

The LM-1 is easier to move car to car and has more logging abilities than the LC-1.

Instruction sets for both are available at the innovatemotorsports website.

My next unit will likely be a LM-1.
