Remote openers...

Remote openers... Wow, I've been posting in this forum a lot lately! Anyhow...
I was wondering if a remote opener is simply just a solenoid rigged up to the bottle via a few fittings, and if I'd be able to build my own fairly easily? I was thinking of running a solenoid equivalent to the super powershot (175 horses) for a 100-150 shot depending on what my 98 can take and I figured it would be cheaper if I could just buy 2 of the solenoids and use one as an opener since they both flow the same and I wouldn't be maxing them out anyway...

Re: Remote openers... The NOS does what you are talking about. From what I have seen with the NOS brand opener the bottle stays open at all time and the solenoid leaks over time defeating the whole purpose of the opener in the first place. The NX, ZEX openers mechanically open and close the bottle.
Re: Remote openers... It doesn't leak from the threads/fittings, it leaks from the actual solenoid inside. Having 1000+psi of pressure against a solenoid for a long time causes the seals to go bad after a while.
