Default NOS bottle heater ?'s

I have a NOS bottle heater that has a thermostat and i have a few questions.

1. Do i need the thermostat if i have a digital nitrous psi gauge? Or can i just turn the heater on/off when the gauge tells me its at the right psi?

2. Do i have to use a relay with the heater? Or can i just ground one wire and send the other wire to a switch?

Thanks for the help

1.) It's really up to you if you want to use the thermostat. Theres really no need for one as long as you keep an eye on the pressure but having it hooked up could never hurt. Nothing wrong with some added safety.

2.) Use a relay.

Use the pressure switch. Its turn on and forget proof (provided it is set up correctly). While you may have the best of intentions to turn it off and on yourself, what if you forget? Hopefully you will only lose a bottle of nitrous when you overpressure it and the rupture disc breaks and vents the bottle.

Use the relay.

.

Use the pressure sender and always use a relay.

If the thermostat burns out or you just simply want to upgrade to a pressure switch use this instead.

Thats odd because I bought the same switch from you guys to run with my NOS bottle heater and it would not work with the thermostats on the actual heater element. I could never get my heater to work with this switch installed, so after talking with NOS I came to find out that the thermostats will quit heating the element at 85* and then kick on(if the heater is armed) when below 85*. You can actually hear the heater relay clicking off and on once this temp has been reached.

This all came about when trying to get my bottle pressure up to 1000psi to look for leaks in the system, but my NOS heater will only get up to 85* which is exactly 950 psi....

You will not run the thermostat and the pressure switch at the same time......

The pressure switch replaces the thermostat. I would rather know real bottle pressure than temperature.. Just a preference... Thats all.
