Default Downside to an independent fuel system?

Are there any? I'll be spraying a 150 very soon with an independent fuel system for the feed, I know there are few benefits, but whats the downside? Thanks!

Having to buy two FPSS, and two fuel gauge senders, uhmmm... cost?

I think it'll make up for it when it reads a little lean on the dyno and all I have to do is up the pressure a few pounds...Or when I can run close to stock timing with c16 in the cell on larger hits...

Downside is upfront cost, but if you start from strach the cost is not that much either. What I mean is you take a stock car with stock system, you might buy a fuel pump and hot wire kit. for 200+.

You might not have to buy those when you stand alone...

think thats about it.

$$$ for a standalone, is cheap insurance if you have tons of money wrapped up in the engine.

why would you need 2 fpss' ?

cost and slight weight penalty are the only downsides imo

the main downfall i see is that if you dont run a FPSS and the fuel pump in the stand alone dies kiss your motor goodbye. unlike if your main pump fails the car will lean out for a second and then basicly shut off.

Like the last guy if anything fails on the stand alone your motor is done. part of that failure could be you not putting gas in it

id seriously kill myself if i did that... lol

the more complex a system you build the more there is for the chance of something failing. thats how it is with anything.

umm only downside i can think of is if your like the guys local to me, you wire it up seperate from the nitrous, and forget and just turn on the nitrous not the stand alone...
now if your like me and the stand alone has to be turned on to get power to the nitrous then i see no downfalls, dont run it low, and the only problem id see if initial cost

I do but it's just to turn off the nitrous when my in tank fuel pump dies while I'm spraying...I wanted the safest possible system for large shots while still having 93 in the main tank. I don't think it would be quite as simple as the car just turning off when you're throttle body is wide open spraying a 300 shot and have no fuel coming out of the injectors, that's very very lean at least for a couple engine cycles...

yes, as long as one is in the standalone's fuel output tract and one is off of the rails, thats the whole point.
