Default Painted my noids

thought you guys might like this.

NOS noids have got to be the ugliest things ever made... and mine were about the ugliest looking of the ugly noids.

sooo... i decided to paint the things and clean em up a little. Turned out pretty sweet.

1000 grit
Acetone cleansing
3 coats primer sealer
1 light and 1 heavy coat chrome spray paint
2 coats of red duplicolor metalcast (???) paint

Looks a lot better than the stock NOS noids. I agree, they aren't exactly the most attractive things out there.

Wow that looks really good...I'd like to paint mine. But I've never been good at painting.

did you have to take them apart to do that?

yep they are super easy to take apart though. all you do is undo the nut on the top and then the "basket" slides right off the top with the wires/coil. pull the coil out of the basket with the wires and paint away.

your not taking apart anything "mechanical" on the noids so there is no fear in hurting them. if you take them apart just to this point it will help understand how they work. all it is is a strong magnet that pulls the plunger open once energized/magnetized.
