I used to have a manual gauge and i only used a bout 5 foot of braided hose, you need to put it at the solenoid not at the tank. you need to know what the pressure is at the motor. use the shortest hose you can ,because there no nitrous going to the gauge ,because there air in the line witch is being compressed and acts like a cushion and will give you a false reading (low pressure). That one reason we have the purge ,so there no air in the lines witch would cause a rich spike, unless your running a dry setup and then it wont really matter , it will only cause a little lag when you nail it.
I went with a auto meter electric n.o.s. gauge, it a lot more accurate but cost twice as much, but worth it to me.

Dont know much about it but i also own the electric autometer, and am very happy. It does cost more, but there are no nitrous lines to deal with in the a pillar
