I would suggest a dyno tune. An A/F gauge will work but you may not catch it going lean until its to late.

I don't thinka dyno tune is nessary. I mean is just running a 100 shot nessary for a 400 dyno tune no. Just start small and go bigger and make sure your a/f is good. I've talked to people and everyone has a different opinion on where the a.f is perfect. I like mine at 12.8 But some say 13.0. The people at the dyno will tell you and you'll see how much rwhp your making also, so it's not really a waste of money if the a/f is good and all. Now if it's lean you might have to get a maf tranlator or something if it's lean. There's too many options depending on how much money and what you want to do.

I dont think a dyno tune is neccessary either. However, I would go do a 3 pull dyno run with wideband just to see where you stand though. That should be around $75 or so...

I don't turn my spary on until im in 2nd gear and by that time I'm way above 3000rpm so thats not really a big deal. It's your turn-off you need to be cafeful of. You want to make sure the switch goes off before you hit the rev limiter. I have my MSD WS set to come on at 3000 and off at 5600. I shift at 5800. Just my $.02.

www.speedshop.org sells an a/f nitrous switch that shuts it down when you go too rich or lean.
