Building a window switch
What would it take to build my own window switch that won't spray between shifts? Have to intercept the tach signal and find a volt/rpm chart, need to find something that commands the shift, anything else? A friend of mine that does robotics said he would build one for me, just needs some information along those lines. Any help would be appreciated.
First off, in parts alone... you need two comparitors, an a/d converter, half a dozen op amps.. etc.
Ya, I can make you a schematic but even if you could build it (does your buddy design circuit boards too?) you'd have to calibrate it. They are too cheap to buy. Oh, and I'm not a Robotics Engineer but, I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.
Or just be like everybody else and buy one.

and probably alot more. you get the idea. BTW you better pray that one of those wires does not come loose or else your engine might go.

I think the name of it was Nino adjustable RPM or something similar.
Didn't look too tough as long as you've got a decent place to by the parts. I didn't want to go through the ordering hassle for piece parts. Those kind of things I want to see/hold prior to purchase to make sure I'm getting the right pieces. Probably $10 or less in parts.
I ended up buying a Harlan window switch. Little more than making it ourselves but still pretty cheap.
Otherwise I'll most probably go the same route as everyone else. Do the window switches sense when you're shifting and open the circuit to the solenoid during that time?
