Default NOS Bottle heater

I have a NOS bottle heater. I have heard that they don't work very well and that I should just use a torch. Does any one have one, If so how good is it?

Mine worked fine....until one of the wires going into the heater ripped out (my fault). My HSW heater is a lot better but the NOS heater got the job done.

Don't use a torch...ever.

Sometimes in the middle of winter even a good bottle heater wont even do the job...then its time to break out the torch

I am not condoning using a torch to heat a nitrous bottle.

So keep a spare bottle, or keep it more full. Nitrous isn't 'good to the last drop.' I rarely let my bottle get down to much less than 4lbs.

I'm running a Dynotune Heater Element wired straight to a switch, and I keep an eye on the pressure with the digital gauge. I haven't had any issues with it at all, and it will typically heat up pretty quick. Granted I'm in FL so I don't have to deal with super cold temperatures either

I'll bet the people that say heaters (any brand) don't work well, used small wire and didn't use a relay.

The NOS heater will work fine. Depending on which unit you have it may have a thermostat. Im not a fan of the thermostat. I would upgrade it to a better pressusre switch such as this.

In the case of winter a good bottle blanket such as the NX blanket can make all the difference in the world.

I had a nos bottle heater and wired it with a relay and heavy gauge wire. I used the thermostats that were supplied that kick it off at 85 degrees. I loved it thought it worked great. It kept the bottle pressure around 950-1000. It only took about 10 minutes to heat a 15lb bottle up.

I have the NOS one and did not wire in the thermostats. It works great but you have to keep an eye on the pressure.

i love the 860 bottle heater/bracket.
it's like wrapping a fat electric iron around your bottle.

here it is on my previous camaro. i still use it on my ss, but its hidden behind the driver's seat.

I decided to ditch the thermostat too. I have a digital pressute gauge that i can look at. My Nos heater is very hot about 45 seconds after i turn it on. I havent filled my bottle yet to see how fast it heats up but i will next week.

nasty hawk went fron the nos heater to the hsw heater and there is a huge differance in the amount of time it takes to heat the bottle up and it stays hotter longer
