The statements about nitrous is cheating (or the like) is born from ignorance of guys who are not real racers.
This is the stuff you here from "time slippers". Attend a heads up event and you'll find out that venacular does not exist. What you will get is respect from fellow racers if you go fast and can make a car live while inhaling a lot of dope.
Ask Shannon Jenkins if he's ever been asked "yeah, will what does it run on motor"?

i'm new to this hobby, and my suspicion is that if you take a optimally and safely tuned 500rwp/tq boosted or n20 eng., the n20 motor will live longer just because it only sees that power only 10-20% of the time, this of course is for a strip/street set up. maybe i/m talking too soon, i may be blowing mine up this wkd. when i spray for the first time.

I used to be the one saying bottles are for babies and what not. Then realized EVERYONE has a kit or power adder of some sort or a built motor. So I said F*CK IT and did what I could with my money. I do OK NA and LOVE to hit it with the jug from time to time.

i was so close to buying a nitrous kit but got a good deal on a turbo kit instead so i want that rout...
nitrous isnt "cheating" and is deff one of the cheapest ways to go fast.. but it does have its drawback (as does everything)
but my favorite anti spray one is
"bottles are for babies, real men get blown"
and for the turbo<supercharger guys i like
"id rather whistle then whine"

Its the stupidest excuse I've ever heard to be honest. A friend of mine with a 07 WRX TR just put down 13.6 in the 1/4 and bitches at me because I have a dry shot halfway installed. He can't even beat me on the street with his turbo so what in the world is he worried about? People these days..
Run what you brung +1
I'm not in it for the sport I'm in it to win. There are no rules, except first one across the line wins, as far as I've been concerned.

Who cares what they think.
Just think of nitrous as hidden JATO rocket. It's their fault for assuming you weren't packing anything.
Weenies find a way to put down other power methods because they feel inadequate in understanding the other methods.

"Give me your belt, and I'll give you my bottle." That's what I have ALWAYS planned to use....
It has always been the mustang guys whining like a bunch of pussies where I am from. But, the thing is, I didnt even spray the poor sons of bitches, they just thought I did

I was brought up thinking that N2O is cheating. I was completely opposed to it. Then a buddy of mine got a bottle and I got a ride...I had my NX Kit in 2 weeks. N2O isn't just cheap. It is fun. It's a kick in the *** when it engages and it is there is just nothing else like it. I could afford a turbo or SC if I wanted to. "I like-a the juice"!
Anyone who complains about you having it needs to run in the little boy lanes at the strip. The only thing that sepperates a racer from speed is cash and *****. Which one do they lack?

The whole nitrous is for babies thing is stupid. Making power is all about air and fuel and manipulating them to make more power. Who cares if you do it with a cam or supercharger, turbo or nitrous. ALL OF THE PEOPLE I have seen say that have not had any experience with nitrous. Most people who say those kind of things are probably talking out of ignorance.

There is actually a point where N20 becomes prestegious (sp?) again. Show up at a race where you pit Turbo race cars VS N20 race cars , and 9 times out of 10 a turbo car is the top dog. If you can outrun a turbo car in an established class people tend to give you a whole lot of respect. In certain classes where tire size is the limiting factor on how fast you can go , it's much easier to get a turbo car down the track. N20 cars usually run the front half of the track better and turbo cars run the later half better. I would rather have a big dollar turbo set up , but I have my N20 tune down to a science. I can't afford the turbo kit or the "learning curve" on a forced induction set up.
Long story short , to each his own....Oh and run what ya brung .

My dad has raced his whole life and wasn't totally against nitrous but was more of an "all motor" kinda guy, then I let him drive my car and he's been a junkie ever since. He rolled into the throttle and I flipped the switch at about 3K in second gear and he said "DAMN, I like that!" LOL
Power is power, no matter how you get it. The goal is to get to the finish line first, period.
