Default Why can't I hook when spraying out of the hole?

Last night I went to the track to get some times with my new nitrous setup. I have a HSW wet kit and I was spraying a 125 shot. I was hoping for high 11's to very low 12's. I ran 12.48 both times @ 111 mph. Granted it is much better than my previous best N/A time off 12.98 @ 104, but my 60' time was actually worse.

I have Nitto 275/40/17 DRs. I was running them at 15 PSI. I did a pretty healthy 5-10 second burnout. They would not hook with the nitrous though out of the hole. I ran 2.04 60' times on two runs. I have a Dynotune window switch which was set to spray in all gears from 3-6k. I launched from a brake stall with my 3400 stall. I spun pretty badly both times. The track prep didn't look bad and it was sunny and 85 degrees out. Very humid too if that matters.

I realize I could probably cut a better 60' time if I don't spray in 1st, but I would like to if at all possible. The Nittos still have decent tread so I am hoping to find a way to get them to hook. Any ideas on how I can get a better 60' and still spray out of the hole? I am guessing that maybe I need to run M/T DRs. Or maybe a different psi in the Nittos. THANKS.

ffirst off the nittos are junk. you can hook them but its tough. I used to run them and they were junk on gthe spray. get some mt et street radials or the hoosier drag radial.

also what suspentiuon mods do you have? rear shocks are important most cars can get to around 10.50 and 1.40 60's with rear shocks and an adjustable tq arm. around that time you will need the rest of the adjustable stuff and maybe some front shocks.

Any tips on launching? What psi do you run the Nittos at? Do you have any suspension mods? Thanks.

If you have a way to tune it ,turn the timing way down in the lower RPM's so it can hook even with the spray

first i would ditch the nittos and go with mt et street radials.. that should help out immensely. then see how that goes and i would also look into some suspension work.

oh and what ps1 are you running the nittos at?

Nittos won't hook with that kinda torque outta the hole.
When that bottle hits you can't really control what the tires are gonna do...meaning you can't feather the nitrous, it's either on or it's not. Don't spray it in 1st outta the hole.
Is it on a WOT switch under the pedal? Next time out on the nittos try launching it not quite at full throttle (no bottle) and don't go WOT until 2nd gear, then you MIGHT get it to hook. It'll take a couple runs to get the hang of it, you don't wanna ***** foot it, just go near WOT where the nitrous doesn't activate if you've got a pedal WOT switch.

If not, get some stickier tires that will let you spray outta the hole. Also look into some aftermarket LCAs and some relocation brackets.

The torque spike for n20 is unreal. get some mt radials, et streets, or et drags.
That bitch will hook, and hold on. BTW.... hope you got a good trans. and rearend.

15 psi is too low for the Nitto

ET Radials will make a huge improvement as everyone has mentioned

main problem: adjust the window switch to make the car work

I run my dad's car cam and 150 shot with SS4000. I delay the window switch to 4300 and it hits hard.

1.51 60ft last time out and went 10.98 @ 124 mph ( full weight w/17's )

The car has went 1.4760ft last year

get rid of the switch and get one of these. Also get you some good tires. This will allow you to get our and spray when you are able.
