Default Couple of 'Help' questions.

Got all my NX kit, parts, and pieces together and at first I was very hesitant to install everything on my own ... until I started doing a mock-up last night. Then, I realized how easy it is. I'd appreciate your comments on two things I'm not certain about.

1. Is the transducer the same thing the instructions are referring to as a bottle heater pressure switch? It looks like the server the same function are are just referred to by differnet names.

2. When wiring the switch panel, the instructions call for a 1k resisitor so the LED won't bunt out on the bottle heater switch. Is this resistor supposed to be soldered between the hot lead connector and ground lead connector on the underside of the switch ... so as to connect the hot and ground leads of the switch together with the resisitor?

1. A "transducer" is any device that takes one form of energy and produces another form of energy. A speaker is a transducer. Takes electrical energy and converts it to sound waves. The pressure switch is temp sensitive and turns it into a electrical signal. So, in short, yes. (edumacation never hurts though)

2. NO. the resister goes inline of the power only. Ground just goes to ground.
go from your 12v source to the resistor, and from the other side of the resistor to the switch.

The resistor looks like it's connected at the #3 connecting point to the #2 connecting point on the diagram (below). The #2 lead seems to clearly be a hot wire. Can somebody shed some light?

sorry, I was in san diego. I see what they did. When the switch is ON, the LED inside gets it's power and uses the resistor to ground. When the switch is off, it would be disconnected. Hook it up as they have there. It will work.

Thanks a lot ... appreciate the confirmation ... wasn't sure if what I was seeing was correct. Anytime I see an electrical hot going to ground, I have to wonder if it's right ... thanks.

That's the confusion, a hot is hot until going to ground. You can measure this after what ever device is being utilized, meaning the ground side. if there is nothing in line then it's a direct short, so you can see it's the same but different. the best minds in the world can't explain all the electrical things that go on. Anyway, I think the resistor could go before or after? I know we are babbling, but we do it so good. Todd is one of our sites better electrical guys, that's for sure.
