Nirous Backfire HELP NEEDED..........Serios replies please
As soon as i hit 3rd, the 100 dry shot came on for less than 1/2 a second and BOOM !!! The Vararam intake, coupler and everthing blew off splitting in 1/2 some of it. #7 and #8 plugs were melted off. Also, the other plugs were bright orange.
WHY ?
Why would the dry cause this ? OR was it the combination ?
BTW... I lost the race too !! My C5 vs 72 Chevelle Pro Street w/ B/B chevy and 350 shot...

What would cause bright orange plugs ? Lean ? i never looked at plugs that were as bright as an orange.
No more spraying the 100 dry shot til i get a tune, BAP installed, colder plugs and fuel injectors !!

Bright orange, hmmmm, where's Cat when you need a plug Guru.
On the added bottle pressure, well this will do one thing for sure, lean your wet hit out, then with an allready starting leaner than normal wet hit, you had one of the above additional problems and thus a higher rpm lean backfire, imo.

Youll need to:
*retard timing..some on the 175 shot and more on the 275 total
*add octane, minimum of 100 octane. Dont bother with additives
*minimum of heat range 7 plugs gapped to .028-.030
*add a 255 lph INTANK pump. Your stock one is likley not up to the task
* get tuned on a dyno or on the street with a wideband and scan tool. Youll need to tune the 175 shot first and get it squared away. Then you will likley need another tune for the dual stage. If the nitrous is coming out of the same bottle for both stages this will affect overall Af ratio. if your 11.5 on the first stage wet...youll likley be richer as you add the dry...MAYBE. Youll need to run the dry seperately with a wideband to ensure it is registering properly.
*I personally would be using a window switch or controller for both stages.
Good luck...but you have some work to do before your succesfull.
